Abiquiu Lake is in the heart of Georgia O'Keeffe country in northern New Mexico. The reservoir is the result of water of the Rio Chama being impounded by the Abiquiu Dam, creating a lake that is over 12 miles in length. It is a favorite spot for camping, hiking, swimming, picnicking and, for me, painting.
